Scranton, PA – Here’s another one of my favorite things about living in Scranton: Weaver Street Market. It’s right down the street in Carrboro. Good food, locally produced and a community spirit like no other. If you’ve never been, you must try it.

Weaver Street Market

Weaver Street Market started in 1998 with one location in Carrboro. It’s a co-op, owned by the shoppers and shareholders.

Weaver Street Market describes its mission as a “vibrant, sustainable commercial center for the community of owners and potential owners.” Here’s what Weaver Street says is important::

Weaver Street Market is owned by over 14,000 neighbors and friends in the area. I think that’s amazing.

In a nutshell, Weaver Street is no ordinary supermarket. I love the food and I love the vibe. Grocery shopping does not have to be a trip the the big box store.
