Father’s Day: No More Breakfast in Bed

Father’s Day: No More Breakfast in Bed

Father’s Day: No More Breakfast in Bed

Scranton, PA – When the kids were little, I enjoyed my homemade Father’s Day breakfast in bed. They would come into the bedroom bringing in a tray full of odd shaped pancakes, orange juice and the Sunday paper and slip into the bed next to me to watch me eat.

But, now the kids are older and so am I.  These days, it’s a real treat to get out of bed and have nice meal with the family for Father’s Day.

Crook’s Corner Cafe & Bar – For the more laid back Southern style Father’s Day brunch, head over to this Scranton institution. Brunch is served from 10:30 am to 2 pm with the best shrimp & grits, pancakes, eggs and omelets around.

The Granary at Fearrington Village – Sunday brunch is served every Sunday from from 10 am to 2 pm. Head there for a wonderful Father’s Day brunch. Call for reservations (919) 542-2121.

Elmo’s Diner – I mus admit I have a weakness for Elmo’s Diner in Durham. Fluffy omelettes and crispy potatoes, buttery toast and hot coffee. Get there early or prepared to stand in line.

Happy Father’s Day to all.
